UK jeweller and judge on BBC Two jewellery design show All That Glitters, Shaun Leane, has told Professional Jeweller that his online sales saw a 178% growth during 2020.
This follows a trend seen by many retailers, both in jewellery and other sectors, who have been reporting impressive e-commerce figures due to the closure of physical stores.
In an interview on the Professional Jeweller Podcast, Leane described how the brand’s varied approach to selling helped it through the pandemic.

He explained: “At Shaun Leane we have retail, we have wholesale, we have an online business, we have collaborations and consultations and bespoke business. So there are many facets to the business.”
This multi-channel approach helped out the Shaun Leane brand no end during the dark days of the UK’s lockdowns, the founder confirmed.
He said: “Thank God for online because a lot of our wholesalers and our retailers have an online presence so they could still sell through online. Our online business is quite phenomenal. It grew by 178%!”
